For the last two years, I have been working extremely hard with an amazing group of young people that I have known for 5 years or more. Their ages range from 9 to 20. Their skills and abilities range from crochet to photography, to jewelry making to dance to drumming, to graphic design to music making. Their love and dedication—limitless. Their energy---amazing. For all those aforementioned reasons, I chose this group with which to travel. They are the best of the best and they will be amazing leaders in our community one day soon. Now, as we look upon the end of our fundraising journey and on to our official Global Leadership expedition, we reflect on what this continuing endeavor is teaching us—that small groups can do b...

The month of May was a very busy month. It was filled with a lot of practices to get ready for our big Art Is Life Concert. Also with a little performances here and there. In May, we also did a lot of fundraising. We continued our monthly meetings with our Care 4 Senegal trip. At these meetings we would count our money jars, go over important upcoming dates, and also discuss different ways to fundraise. With our Art Is Life concert being one of our biggest fundraisers it really helped us get closer to going to Senegal this year. We spent a lot of time making the concert one of our best. All of those practices paid off in the end and everyone said that it was a very inspirational and motivational performance. Everyone did t...

Black Business Expo

This month, we did fundraising at the Black Business Expo. Wehad a good time while learning about our culture. We sold items and put out our jars for donations. I went around and told almost everyone in the building about my trip. I was able to raise $105 from donations. I am excited about this trip because I really want to see the pink lake and other museums while we are there. Please help us make this trip happen by making a donation. Every little bit helps. Thank you.

November Culture4MyKids Blog:

In November 2015, Culture4MyKids planned a meeting and what we did there was plan some things for the trip and create new ways for fundraising.

The organization also counted the amount of money they raised over the past time. I think the company is well on its way to Senegal by fundraising, performing, and even learning on the way there. By the time we get back we will have so much knowledge.

Culture4mykids is a great organization we are trying hard.We wish for some help on the way to Senegal---we are happy to receive donations. I think this trip is very important because when we go over to Senegal we will perform reciprocity and learn from actual local communities and families over there. I can'...

This Month, well last month, we did many things that involved the community. I feel like these events were more fun and active than some fundraisers. Some of the events were:

1.The DNA Fitness Afrobics class

2.The Broad Street Mile

3.The Panera Bread Fundraiser

The DNA Fitness Afrobics class took place at DNA Fitness on the day of October 31st. This dance class was a mixture of African dance, aerobics, and a fun-filled workout. Although vasts amounts of donations were given, there was a table set up in the front. This table, being operated by Autumn, and Taliki, had many products such as shea butter, beaded elephant key chains, peace bags, natural oils and etc.

The Broad Street Mile event mostly consisted of running, performing...
